It’s a new year and that means new rules and rates for admail, lettermail and stamps.

As of January 1,1 2016 these changes come into play and it’s a good idea to bookmark this page for future reference.

The biggest change this year is the discontinuation of some familiar language.

If you are a business or fundraiser, you are probably using Machineable Personalised Mail (once called Admail).

These rates are going up by one penny.  So that 10,000 piece mail campaign is going to cost you $100 more in 2016. You can get the rest of the rate changes at the overview link.

Don’t forget about the trap!

Watch out for the Machineable Personalized Mail rate trap. I’ve blogged about it here. In short, if your mail piece exceeds 50g, or becomes non-machineable for some reason, you should seriously explore the Special Handling rates. They will save a lot of money.
